A: I grew up with a dad as a photographer... so I began assisting him at weddings at the ripe old age of 12 (crazy right?). In the beginning my job was to carry equipment, hold reflectors, fluff dresses and change film. By the time I was 15 I was shooting as an assistant (black & white 35mm). When I graduated from High School in 2003 my dad insisted I work with other photographers, and I did... experienced different methods and techniques from each, and began the transition into digital photography. I began shooting weddings alone at 19, graduated from CSU-Fresno as a Smittcamp Alumni with a major in Art and minor in Entrepreneurship in 2006. I immediately joined forces with my dad at our family studio in Madera, at this time training my dad on the world of digital photography. It's hard to say exactly how many weddings I have attended/shot, but I would guess over 1200. I have seen it all..and with my experience I bring to all of my weddings I know I am capable of tackling each scenario and delivering you with an unparalleled experience.
Q: How many pictures will you take on our wedding day?
A: There is no limit to how many images we capture during your wedding day. We will be taking literally hundreds of images throughout our time with you, from the first moments of getting ready, to the party at the end of the night. With two shooters, you can usually expect over a thousand edited images to be dleivered, and in some cases even more depending on the scope of your coverage.
Q: How soon should we book you for our wedding?
A: You can book your date with us up to 18 months in advance. Popular dates (such as Saturdays in Spring & Fall) do go fast. Once we confirm our availability, then we'll schedule a meeting face-to-face to discuss your big day in greater detail, share more of our work & learn more about your plans & what's important to you. If you decide to book with us, we require a signed agreement and $300 deposit which goes towards your total package.
Q: Where should we shoot our engagement pictures?
A: Engagement sessions are included in all of our wedding packages, and is the first opportunity to get close and personal with each other before your wedding day. Often clients choose a favorite place that's special for them. Many choose to go to Pismo or the Central Coast area which is fabulous year-round. I love engagement pictures in the Springtime with the blossoms & wildflowers up in the foothills, summertime high-country alpine meadows, or Autumn colors in a leafy setting. We know lots of "secret" cool spots to shoot & we're always happy to travel to the destination of your choice. For destination engagement sessions outside of the Fresno area, there is no travel fee if you plan your dates around when we will already be in that area. You can then use package credits to showcase your engagement images in one of our custom SaveTheDate cards or magnets, and offer a custom designed hardcover guestbook featuring your favorite engagement images with space for guests to write their good wishes.
Q: We're having a destination wedding....do you travel?
A: Of Course!! We shoot all over the great State of California, and LOVE to shoot destination weddings in Pismo Beach & the Central Coast, as well as the San Francisco Bay Area, Wine Country & have even been known to cross the CA border into other states as well. We're happy to travel wherever you'd like to get hitched... travel fees and/or overnight accommodations are negotiated depending on the location.
Q: How soon until our images are available?
A: Usually you can expect your final images to be ready to view within 2-3 weeks post wedding day. On average, 20+ hours are spent in the post production of your images to give you the best of the best!
Q: How will we see our images?
A: Your wedding images will be presented to you on a USB drive & they will also go "live" in a password-protected web gallery for you to share online with friends & family. We will also permanently archive your wedding images, should your ever need to replace your copy.
Q: Will we get our digital images & can we print them ourselves?
A: Yes, and yes. All of our Wedding Packages include your fully edited digital negatives and the copyrights. We include your images at full-resolution on USB with a personal reprint license so you are free to blow up your social media accounts & make prints to your heart's content.
Q: Do you also offer wedding video production services?
A: As you have read so far, I come from a family of photographers. I also have two younger brothers who grew up with an amazing "eye" for film. They are both freelance videographers, and upon their availability between their work that takes them all over the country, they create amazing cinema-style videos for wedding couples. You can email us if your interested and we can get you in touch!
